AMESALL Study Abroad Scholarship provides financial support to Rutgers undergraduate students to study abroad in any of the Rutgers Global-approved programs in Africa, the Middle East, or South Asia, or to enroll in a program of African, Middle Eastern, and/or South Asian Languages and/or Literatures at universities in other countries. Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
- be full time Rutgers undergraduates in good standing with a minimum 3.5 GPA.
- be enrolled in an AMESALL major or minor concentration at the time of application.
- provide documentation of acceptance to a Rutgers-approved Study Abroad program or an accredited overseas university at the time of application.
- comply with all current Rutgers University policies concerning study abroad.
Application Deadlines:
There are two application cycles, one in Spring and one in Fall.
The Spring application deadline is March 15. The Fall application deadline is October 15.
Application Materials:
- A completed application form.
- An official copy of the applicant’s Rutgers transcript from the Registrar.
- Documentation of acceptance from a Rutgers approved study abroad program, or an accredited overseas university.
- One (1) letter of recommendation from a Rutgers faculty member. Please request these letters at least two weeks before the deadline and ask your recommenders to e-mail their letters directly to Michele Frishberg with the same subject heading as above.
