    Jehan Mohamed is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Foreign Language Education– Arabic focus at Rutgers University.  She earned her M.A. in Liberal Studies from Rutgers in 2015, graduating with distinction, completing a thesis on traditional Egyptian arts. She holds a B.A. in Egyptology from Ganoub El Wadi University, Egypt.  

     

  • Areas of Research/Interest:

    Her research focuses on the intersections of sociocultural theory (SCT), language education, and the professional development of educators, with a particular emphasis on Arabic teaching and learning. Her work underscores the importance of collaborative communities of practice that promote continuous learning among educators through reflective and culturally responsive pedagogy. She investigates the impact of professional development opportunities on shaping and transforming teaching strategies to foster both educator growth and improved student outcomes. Deeply committed to educator development, she actively participates in national workshops and specialized training programs, including STARTALK, Oslo University, Michigan State University, ACTFL, and the Online Teaching Consortium (OLC).
